Hunger!
Is it lunch already?
I’m here at work. I am a substitute teacher and today I am with fifth graders. I’ve subbed for this class before and they are one of my favorite classes, and not just because my middle daughter is in this class either. Really, I just enjoy them a ton. Today, however, they are extremely unruly and chatty, chatty, chatty! I know there are certain factors but I have to wonder if, at this point in time (just before lunchtime), part of it is just hunger.
I have a friend that when she gets hungry; she...

He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.Psalm 18:19 NKJV
Have you ever just been caught up in the wonderment of Jesus' taking of notice of you? That he cares about you and cares about what concerns you?
That we, as just mere humans, would matter to the great and mighty God is, well, baffling.
This, too, was David's sentiments in Psalms 4:8. He says "What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?" David was meditating on the glories of God's handiwork and then,...

Philippians 2:17 says “ Yes, and I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith I am glad and rejoice with you all”
In the Old Testament it is believed that a drink offering was offered often on top of or as to finish off the “main” offering. In this Old Testament era, drink offerings were poured out by the priests on top of animal sacrifices (Num. 15:1–10). Alec Motyer in The Bible Speaks Today: The Message of Philippians writes: ‘The regulations for this part of the sacrificial system are not absolutely...

Girlfriends…
Hmmmm… what does that mean? What emotions and thoughts does that stir up for you? For some it may be coffee dates, shared memories, inside jokes, funny stories, shoulders to cry on, prayer partners, or just that girl that loves you right through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
But what might it be for others?
For others it might be more of a painful thing rather than a good thing. For me it has been both. You see, I didn’t grow up walking with my Jesus. I was twenty-two years of age when I—literally—dashed down a long,...

Wow, it's the Fourth of July weekend! I have always liked celebrating the fourth. There's something about patriotism that I love. We are so blessed to live in America. I have been able to travel to different countries on a few occasions but nothing is like home...America. We have so many freedomsand so many blessings. As we celebrate Independence Day let's take time to thank God for what He has given to us and not take our freedom for granted.God commands us to pray for those in leadership. This weekend let's particularly keep our countriesleaders in prayer. Leadership is not taken...

I sat in my living room, alone. Well, not completely alone, just not with any tangible person. I have sat there many times with Him, Jesus, it’s what we do. I was telling Him of all the things that were on my mind and heart. However, I noticed that while I was talking I was also thinking. Not thinking of what I was saying, actually it was as if my mouth had set its course on autopilot and my thoughts also, yet in different planes headed for different destinations.
Those that know me know that I often joke that...

Good Morning Ladies!! Can you believe it's Memorial Day weekend? We've had so much rain and cold weather that I feel like we're heading into fall instead of summer. But I'm glad to say the weather is improving and before long we will be in the middle of summer. I can see my garden from my kitchen window. I've been keeping my eye on the things I planted. I daydream of home grown tomatoes, cilantro, onions...I must be in the mood for salsa...hmmm. Sounds good, doesn't it?
This past week I was thanking God for everything He brings into my life that...
Good day to you, ladies of MVCA; it's my turn to share what God has placed on my heart. I loved Belinda's story and it is so true that as women we need each other to share with and rejoice over what God is doing in our life's. I know we'll all have different areas of womanhood to talk about, so today's message is directed towards some of the young ladies of our church family.
I want to recognize our Impact Girls who will be celebrating their honor Graduation this Sunday evening, May 22, here at the church. We will...
Hello Ladies! Welcome to our first blog. We’ve just moved in and everything is a bit sparse right now. We have a lot to do in our new blog room. Our blog room will be a place where you can cozy up and read as we share our thoughts about life. Our blogs will be words of encouragement, words of praise to God; words to give you joy during your day-to-day life as a woman in Christ.
We will be decorating our page in the next few weeks. You will notice that we call ourselves “Girlfriends”. We decided on this name...
